Anti-Nuclear Antibody (ANA) ELISA Screen with Reflex to IFA Titer and Pattern
ANA specimens are screened using an ELISA assay. All specimens that do not screen negative are confirmed using HEp-2 cells, and if positive, the titer and pattern will be reported.
Specimen Collection Requirements
Serum, one 5.0 mL gold (SST) top tube
Supply Item Number - 101235
Allow blood to clot for 30 minutes. Centrifuge and separate serum from cells immediately. Pour serum into plastic tube.
0.5 mL serum (whole blood 1.2 mL minimum draw)
Refrigerated if arrival in the Legacy Central Laboratory is within 48 hours. Freeze if transport requires longer than 48 hours.
Plasma and other body fluids; severely lipemic or bacterially contaminated specimens
COLLECTION TO INITIATION OF TESTING AFTER SEPARATION FROM CELLS: Ambient: 8 hours; Refrigerated (2-8°C): 48 hours; Frozen (at or below -20°C): 2 months
