Acceptable single screening test for IgA-competent individuals with suspected celiac disease.

Specimen Collection Requirements

Collect

Serum, one gold (SST) top tube

Handling

Allow to clot. Centrifuge and separate serum from cells immediately. Refrigerate.

1.0 mL

0.5 mL

Refrigerated (2-8°C)

Rejection Criteria

Plasma, microbially contaminated, heat-treated or specimens containing visible particulates, specimens grossly hemolyzed or lipemic should be avoided. 

Stability

Ambient (20-25°C): Unacceptable; Refrigerated (2-8°C): 7 days: Prolonged storage at -20°C or below.
