Interpretation
<20 mIU/mL
An hCG result of <20 mIU/mL in urine does NOT rule out pregnancy. A patient can still have hCG in the urine and give a <20 mIU/mL result if she has recently become pregnant. Interpret result with caution. If there is any question, order a quantitative hCG in serum or plasma (HCGQ).
Positive
A result of ≥20 mIU/mL in urine is considered positive for hCG.
