Specimen Collection Requirements
Whole Blood, one royal blue (K2EDTA or Na2 EDTA) top tube
In the original collection tube, 20-25°C, also acceptable: refrigerated
Heparin anticoagulant, frozen specimens
Mercury is volatile; concentration may reduce after 7 or more days of storage. If the specimen is drawn and stored in the appropriate container, the arsenic and lead values do not change with time.
