Mucopolysaccharides qualitative and quantitative
Preferred test to screen for mucopolysaccharidosis.
This test alone is not appropriate for the diagnosis of a specific mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS). Follow-up enzymatic testing must be performed to confirm a diagnosis of an MPS.
Specimen Collection Requirements
Do not administer low-molecular weight heparin prior to collection.
Random Urine collection, early morning specimen is preferred
All specimens will be evaluated by referral laboratory for test suitability.
Ambient: 7 days; Refrigerated: 90 days; Frozen: 365 days
Days when test is performed vary.
