Whole Blood, one heparinized blood gas syringe

Handling

Collect specimen anaerobically. Blood gas syringe should be capped with no air space. Transport immediately.

Specimens with syringe uncapped or with airspace, specimens collected in tubes with benzalkonium heparin, EDTA, citrate, oxalate or fluoride
