Specimen Collection Requirements

Collect

Serum or Plasma, one 7 mL red, 4 mL dark green (sodium heparin) or 4 mL lavender (EDTA) top tube

Handling

Allow serum to clot completely at room temperature (miniumum: 30 minutes). Centrifuge and separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP. Gel tubes are not recommended for drug analysis. However, if collected in a gel tube, remove serum from gel (SST) tube ASAP.
