Specimen Collection Requirements

Collect

Serum, one 4 mL gold (SST) top tube. Also acceptable: Plasma, lavender (EDTA), pink (K₂EDTA), or green (sodium or lithium heparin) top tube.

Handling

CRITICAL FROZEN. Additional specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered. Serum or plasma should be separated from cells and frozen immediately after collection.

Preferred Volume

0.5 mL serum or plasma in each of two aliquots

0.25 mL/container
