Murrey joins Randall Children’s Hospital as chief administrative officer
Last month, the transition began to a new chief administrative office for Randall Children’s Hospital at Legacy Emanuel.
Madlyn (Mady) Murrey, R.N., M.N., officially joined Legacy and began a three-week transition period with the retiring CAO Carla Harris, R.N.
Murray brings more than 30 years of experience in pediatric health care. She was most recently chief operating officer at MultiCare Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma, Wash. She has a Bachelor of Science in nursing from Seattle University, a Master of Nursing from University of Washington and has participated in the University of Pennsylvania Wharton Fellows Program for nurse executives. Murrey was a recent recipient of the Voluntary Hospitals of America Passion Award, the Northwest Organization of Nurse Executives Authentic Leader Award, and the University of Washington School of Nursing Distinguished Alumni Award.
Commitment to care
“Those who interviewed Mady were impressed by her strong commitment to family-centered pediatric care and patient safety,” said Mike Newcomb, Legacy senior vice president and chief operating officer. “Her values, drive and passion are very congruous with the heart of Randall Children’s Hospital, and I am confident that she has the leadership skills to engage employees, physicians and the community, and to lead the growth of RCH, and its programs and services into the future.”
On Oct. 8, Murrey officially took over the leadership role from Harris, whose 15-year career at Legacy included the construction and grand opening of the hospital’s new home in 2012.
