Nike gives special shoes to newborns born at Legacy hospitals in honor of hometown Olympic medalists
In honor of Ashton Eaton and Galen Rupp’s Olympic medals, Nike recently surprised new families at Legacy Good Samaritan, Emanuel and Randall Children’s Hospital with a pair of baby shoes and some inspiration to unleash their newborn’s future potential.
Family Birth Center and NICU nurses delivered the “My First Nike” boxes featuring the Nike Waffle 1 along with an inspirational note highlighting Eaton and Rupp’s achievements and encouraging babies to find their own future potential.
Ashton and Galen were both born in Portland. Galen was born at Legacy Emanuel and volunteered in Randall Children's NICU when he was in high school. His mother, Jamie Rupp, is the facilities design and construction project director for Legacy Heath.
