What distinguishes Legacy Heart Services?
Established in 1991, Legacy’s Bloodless Surgery and Medicine Program is the first of its kind in the nation. It remains one of the most comprehensive and respected programs in the U.S. Our team has performed more than 200 bloodless cardiac surgery procedures. Learn more about bloodless surgery.
Robotically-assisted cardiac surgery
A pioneer in robotics, Legacy performend one of Oregon’s first robotically-assisted valve surgeries in 2009. Legacy remains a leader in minimally invasive cardiac surgery. In certain patients, Legacy provides robotically assisted CABG, ASD closure and MAZE procedures. Learn more about robotic heart surgery.
Legacy Good Samaritan and Legacy Emanuel both have state-of-the-art hybrid operating rooms that allow cardiac surgeons and interventional cardiologists to perform both open and complex minimally invasive procedures in the same room. The advantage is that it reduces surgical time and allows patients to recover faster, with less risk of complications. Different cardiac procedures, previously performed in separate areas, are combined into a specialized ‘hybrid’ room for the best-possible patient care.
