COVID-19 pediatric vaccinations

Legacy Health encourages families to get a COVID-19 vaccination for their children ages 5 to 11 as soon as they are offered to help protect your child, reduce severe infections and limit hospitalizations in our communities. Reviews by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have shown that the vaccines are safe and effective for children. Vaccines are our best tool to ensure our children can continue to attend school in person, participate in activities and spend time safely with family and friends.

Children ages 5-11 are now eligible to receive a Pfizer vaccine in Oregon and Washington.

Legacy encourages families across our communities to get their children vaccinated in three locations:

1. Your pediatrician or family primary care physician

  2. Community pediatric vaccine clinics

  3. Your local pharmacies

We recommend that you check your local pharmacy’s website to see if vaccination walk-ins or appointments are available. You can learn more at Vaccines.gov.

Please be aware that Legacy’s initial supply of vaccine doses for children ages 5 to 11 will be limited. At this time, Legacy is not offering drive through vaccinations or community vaccine clinic options.

The Oregon and Washington state health departments manage the vaccine supply in our states, and Legacy will continue to partner with our states to increase vaccination opportunities in our communities. For questions related to vaccine supply and distribution, please contact the Oregon Health Authority or the Washington State Department of Health for more information.
