Tom Vice left the Sunday church sermons behind to become a chaplain at Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center. At the hospital, he found his purpose, where he helps patients and their loved one's grapple with some of life’s most profound questions.

To take the job, Vice first had to be accepted in Legacy Health’s Clinical Pastoral Education Program, which focuses on several areas, from spiritual assessments and working in a multi-faith environment, to active listening and behavioral sciences.

In April of 2022, Vice was featured in The Oregonian about his work as a hospital chaplain.
