- General Infectious Diseases
- Advanced Infectious Diseases 1 and 2
Required longitudinal learning experiences:
- Antimicrobial Stewardship
- Infectious Diseases Clinic
- Pharmacy operations (aka “staffing”)
- Practice Management
- Research Project
Elective experiences:
- Academia with Pacific University School of Pharmacy
- Critical care neuro-trauma
- Emergency medicine
- Epidemiology, outcomes
- Informatics, longitudinal and focused rotation
- Pediatric infectious diseases
- Transplant Infectious Diseases with Oregon Health and Science University hospital
- Other experiences may be available upon agreement of the resident and residency program director
What teaching opportunities are available for residents?
Legacy Health is a teaching facility for medical, surgical and nursing residents, medical students, pharmacy residents, and pharmacy students, as well as other disciplines.
The infectious diseases rotation employs a layered-model of learning, which empowers learners to teach other learners with less years of experience while having a robust mentoring resource in more advanced learners and preceptors.
If residents elect to complete the Citywide Teaching Certificate Program, they can also teach at either the OHSU/OSU College of Pharmacy or Pacific University School of Pharmacy.
What are the qualification requirements for residency candidates?
- Pharm.D. degree from ACPE accredited school of pharmacy or MS/BS with clinical experience
- Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency
- Eligible for Oregon state pharmacist licensure
- Submission of application through the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS)
- Registration in the ASHP Residency Matching Program
- Complete application received by January 2nd.
What is the compensation for Legacy pharmacy residents?
The resident's monthly stipend is competitive with the local and national market. The exact amount can be found each year on the ASHP Residency Directory. Legacy Benefits include family health, vision and dental insurance, paid vacation, sick leave, holidays, a matched tax shelter annuity, travel allowance and a reduced–cost public transportation pass. Residents are compensated for travel to ASHP midyear meeting.
