The “Honing in on Headaches” Clinical Collaboration Series event on October 4 was an opportunity for LHP members to hear from three LHP Network neurologists about the finer points of a good neurologic exam, indications for imaging, and recognizing the frequent and varying presentations of migraine headaches.

"The Essential Neurological Examination for Headache" is the title of the presentation delivered by Dr. Rosenbaum, Legacy Medical Group – Neurology and medical director, Legacy Parkinson's program. Dr. Nelson, The Vancouver Clinic, focused on "Headache Imaging." And Dr. Gurjeet Singh, Legacy Medical Group – Neurology, presented "Headache Treatment Updates." Download the presentations

The 33 attendees were evenly split between independently practicing providers and Legacy-employed providers, who earned CME credit for their attendance.
According to the post-event survey, attendees gave the event high marks overall for organization, the relevancy of the information to patient care, and the opportunity to network with peers. Nearly all indicated they would attend future events of this type and would recommend them to colleagues.
Individual comments about the evening included:
• Lots of practice information for PCPs
• Information is applicable to outpatient primary care
• Practice focus for non-neurologists
• Easy-to-follow sequence with valuable insight
• Very useful and informative
• Extremely academic and interesting
• Concise, usable information I can actually use in my practice
• Engaging speakers for an often confusing/tricky clinical topic
• I didn’t realize migraine was so common
Survey respondents also gave helpful feedback for future events, such as limiting the level of detail and the length of presentations. They also suggested over a dozen topics to be considered for future Clinical Collaboration Series events.
