New PacificSource health plan for Legacy Health Partners network
Last week, Legacy Health joined PacificSource and OHSU in announcing a product partnership for a new employer-based health plan with an accompanying robust provider network. This product, called Pathfinder, will be added to the portfolio of existing PacificSource products, including a broad PPO offering, called Voyager, as well as the Legacy/LHP-centric product, called Navigator, which will continue to be offered to individuals, small groups and large employers. This new offering includes additional westside access to care. This health plan is designed to appeal to westside employers and consumers desiring a broader choice of providers.
For Legacy Health Partners practices, this new health plan is a source of potential new patients. While we are partnering with OHSU and its system partners to enable PacificSource to offer consumers a broader network, that does not change our focus within LHP of managing our contracted populations and referring patients within LHP to better coordinate care and meet quality and cost targets.
In 2016, Legacy Health purchased a fifty percent stake in PacificSource Health Plans to become more competitive in our markets by aligning with a health plan. This announcement is one way that Legacy is continuing to expand on this strategy by increasing opportunities for growth of PacificSource’s member base and our market share. Legacy and Legacy Health Partners are strategic network partners for PacificSource for its other commercial health plans and Medicare Advantage plan. Together we are working to deliver extraordinary experiences for our shared patients/members, attract new shared patients/members, and provide high value, cost-effective care.
As LHP continues to focus on its own strategic goal to grow covered lives, this announcement reflects one new health plan that will be part of LHP’s contracted populations for 2020. We expect to add others as we get closer to the start of the new year and will share that information in the coming months.
