Currently, the Legacy Health Partners network is not meeting the breast, cervical or colorectal cancer screening performance targets for the 2017 measurement year. Because these measures have associated lookback periods of between two and ten years, the claims data we receive for reporting on these measures is incomplete. Manually submitting data will give LHP a more accurate and timely picture of how the network is performing on these measures. Read the full story and download instructions for manually submitting data.
Leadership opportunity: Apply by Nov. 6 for a seat on an LHP committee
LHP has extended the application deadline to Monday, Nov. 6 for a position on one of the four LHP committees: Quality and Membership, Finance and Contracting, Population Health Services and Clinical Collaboration and Performance Improvement. There are openings for a variety of positions, including practice administrators as well as primary care and specialty providers. In particular, as a new subcommittee, Clinical Collaboration and Performance Improvement is seeking to round out its membership with primary care members and a focus that includes the following specialty areas: surgery, imaging, cardiology, OB/GYN, inpatient medicine, pediatrics, neurology and orthopedics. It’s an exciting time to be on the Legacy Health Partners leadership team – we encourage you to apply. Download information and an application.
Help spread the word on 2018 Open Enrollment
The Open Enrollment period for 2018, which began on Nov. 1 and runs through Dec. 15, is shorter than in past years. If you have patients who purchase their health insurance on one of the state exchanges, you may want to remind them they need to re-enroll by Dec. 15 to have coverage for 2018. For Oregon practices, outreach materials from the Oregon Health Insurance Marketplace, including a flyer and a brochure, are available on the LHP team site. (Note: The Washington Health Benefit Exchange did provide materials to support outreach in Washington.)
New report highlights LHP’s impact on value
What does “value” look like in our changing health care landscape? It looks like higher-than-national-average rates for cancer screenings, decreased readmission rates, and stabilized health plan costs for covered members. Our recently published value report, “Delivering value by transforming care,” clearly demonstrates that our approach to producing value is unique, effective and good for the health of our community. The eight-page report is a valuable tool being used in Legacy’s conversations with potential new payors and community partners.
Epic upgrade coming Nov. 11
Log in to Epic in a few days and you’ll notice a few changes. The upgrade includes new color schemes to help distinguish each section of your dashboard. It will not change how you access data or what data is available. The upgrade is also setting the foundation for Healthy Planet Link, which will be available next year.
