This is the only doctor that I have been able to see over the last four months since I was injured that went into great detail explaining to me what happened and what was going on with my body, every other doctor that I have seen has been in nothing but a hurry to get me in and out of their office. Dr. Simons was referred to me by PeaceHealth in Longview and it took me a while to find out where he was. He is one of the finest doctors that I have ever had the pleasure to meet with in or out of the military!

For a major surgery that I need to have he seemed calm and confident which in turn made me feel better about my situation.

Overall the visit was weird. Once he started the procedure he nicked my foot with the needle, and saw "oopsie." Then grabbed gauze and turned his glove inside out and handed it to me. Went home and was excruciating pain. Called and he said his MA told him that they gave me the -> Lidocaine shot that only lasts a few mins not the 2 hour one he thought he gave me. He also made a comment. "You're not wanting narcotics for this are you?" I felt like he saw me as just trying to get pills and not taking my pain seriously. I already had Oxy at home so I didn't need more. Plus I didn't eve take them. Also made a comment that I just need to tough it out. I went to my reg. dr. and she said this procedure can take weeks for recovery and he told me 7-10 days with some pain but I'll be able to do more things. -> This was not the case at all. I had to cancel many appt's for work and couldn't do much of anything for about a week. I felt he down played this a lot. There was no chat about after care just my paperwork, which I read over. When I called I was hoping for more advice but just got an, "Did you read your paperwork? Its all listed there." Bedside manner and compassion is lacking a bit. I wanted to go back in to get the area checked as my stitches gave out. I requested not to see him again but the receptionist said she would have to send over a request to him. How awkward If I request another doc due to being uncomfortable I should be able to go with that I felt forced to go back to him for a check up. He was better this time and even offered a cream for me to take home. It was frustrating to me because when I called in all that pain I asked for some kind of cream and he told me there wasn't anything he would give. But then all of the sudden he does when my pain is manageable? Doesn't make sense. There is no consistency.

My husband & I were both impressed with every aspect of my recent experience with you & I have "sung" your praises even before the surgery arrived.
