About Me:

My interest in General Surgery began while studying Biology in high school. The influence of a great biology teacher and the mentorship of a General Surgeon who allowed me to volunteer with him sparked an interest in the human body and surgery. That interest led to a degree in Zoology and a career in medicine. I dedicated the next 9 years to becoming a General Surgeon. Medical school took me to Missouri and the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. There I learned the importance of the patient and that healing is not only a science but incorporates the mind, body, and spirit. After medical school, I began my General Surgery Residency at a small community hospital in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. For the next five years, I worked to learn the skills and art of surgery from many teachers in various subspecialties. While there, I served as the Chief Resident and Chief Surgical Resident, which helped me learn valuable time management and people skills.
