About Me:
Dr. McCarron is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in diagnosis, management & treatment of shoulder/elbow problems. He grew up in Portland, but has lived/trained at world-class institutions nationwide. After 2007 completion of a fellowship in shoulder/elbow surgery at The Cleveland Clinic, he stayed as faculty for 3 years. In 2010 he returned to Portland as Section Chief of Orthopaedic Surgery at Portland VA Medical Center. In 2016 he joined Rebound. He believes the best outcomes are achieved for patients by combining the most current, effective, evidence-based treatment strategies with a strong doctor-patient relationship. He’s authored orthopaedic textbook chapters and published peer-reviewed research articles on rotator cuff repairs, healing & bio-mechanics. He has an academic appointment in the OHSU’s Orthopaedics & Rehab Dept. and is involved in resident education. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, carpentry, wood working and running.
