About Me:

Born in Salt Lake City, Dr. O'Toole was raised in Palo Alto and attended Gunn HS. After college studies in botany she married and moved with her husband and son to Germany, where she graduated from medical school in 1980. Returning to the United States for her pediatric residency, she eventually settled in Portland. After a number of years as a general practice pediatrician, Dr. O'Toole founded the Kartini Clinic, an evidence-based eating disorder treatment center for children and young adults. She continues to serve as the medical director of Kartini Clinic. An avid bookworm and gardener, she is also the mother of four grown children and proud grandmother of two. Dr. O'Toole has conducted field work with the Center for Disease Control: Hepatitis B Eradication Program on American Samoa. Our clinic provides tours of our facility and free appointments with our intake coordinators. Hobbies include: Spending time with family, reading and gardening.
