About Me:

I chose to specialize in Colon and Rectal Surgery because I enjoy the vast variety of disease processes I am able to care for. I enjoy helping my patients, who are often in very difficult and unexpected circumstances, be able to effectively navigate through the clinical options and opportunities that are currently available. My goal is to create treatment plans with my patients, which are then specifically tailored for each individual. This includes multidisciplinary care and collaboration to enact a patient-centric care pathway.My training began at University of Maryland where I graduated with my Doctor of Medicine Degree. I went on to complete my General Surgery training at University of Florida, where I developed my appreciation of the Colon and Rectal Surgery specialty.I completed my Colon and Rectal Surgery fellowship at OHSU. Dr. Butler, was very easy to talk to. He was thoroughly acquainted with my history and test results. He explained things in a clear, caring way. He listened attentively to what I had to say and was sensitive to my feelings/fears /questions. I came away from the visit with a very clear understanding of my situation, which felt like a relief.

Dr. Butler is probably one of the most empathetic and concerned surgeons I've worked with. He's always checking in and asking how I've been recovering and it's refreshing to see that as often that hasn't been my experience in the past with other surgeons.

This provider was very friendly and made me feel very at ease while talking about the issues that I have. This provider and the staff that works with him showed what a true care team should be. I would highly recommend them to anyone that is in need of this type of care.

Finally got in to see Dr.Butler after 5 wks after referral from my primary care doctor.Appreciate his examination of my condition & his recommendation to solve condition.Wish I would have received more info on my visit on MyHealth portal from Dr.Butler.Other than that,it was good.

I have seen this provider in the past and he was soft-spoken and very kind. At this visit he was very loud and rude did not listen. He was not caring. I will never use him or anyone in that practice ever again.

PT was hard, but the provider was understanding and helped give me info about other referrals that had gotten lost in the mix.
