Dr. Liss' specialty interests are breast cancer and lymphoma. With more than 15 years of training and experience in clinical practice, Dr. Liss believes in a holistic approach to cancer care, addressing a cancer diagnosis not only in terms of medical treatment, but also addressing psychological and emotional needs of patients and their families. "The doctor–patient relationship is very much a partnership. It is critically important to offer time and openness in hearing patients' concerns and in educating patients regarding treatment recommendations. We talk about options, goals of treatment, patient goals and reassure them they will have support through this process. We help facilitate best medical care, but the patient is really the final decision maker in their care. We have to recognize that they will have other concerns. Their lives often come to a complete halt or change direction significantly because of their diagnosis and treatment."
