About Me:
Dr. Kinast is Vice-Chair of Ophthalmology and a Clinician Scientist at the Legacy Devers Eye Institute and Legacy Research Institute. He also serves as residency site director and associate glaucoma fellowship director at the Arthur Devers Memorial Clinic. He specializes in the treatment of cataract and glaucoma. Dr. Kinast invented the GentleDrop Eye Drop Guide, the iD2 eye drop adherence monitor, and a tube implant with magnetically controlled flow. He has served as an Investigator for several NIH-funded studies including Clarifying the Optimal Application of SLT Therapy (COAST), Ocular Hypertension Treatment Study (OHTS), and STTR Phase I and SBIR Phase II awards. His research focuses include medication adherence, medical devices, selective laser trabeculoplasty, mitomycin compounding, and patient satisfaction. He is a Clinical Associate Professor at the OHSU Casey Eye Institute.
