Rising numbers, better information

What kind of people have diabetes? You'd be surprised.

More and more Americans of all ages are dealing with diabetes. According the Center for Disease Control, diabetes in the U.S. increased by 32 percent between 1990 and 2000 -- with a 70 percent jump for people aged 30-39. And the numbers are still rising.

That's the bad news. The good news is that lifestyle changes regarding food and exercise have been clearly shown to improve diabetes control, and can also lower the risk of developing diabetes in the first place.

Legacy Weight and Diabetes Institute can help. Since diabetes presents daily demands and decisions that require special skills and up-to-date knowledge. That's where Legacy comes in. We provide empowering education that meets your needs and your treatment plan. In addition to individual consultation, Legacy offers a variety of diabetes classes and support groups.
