Explore new frontiers in obesity treatment: A collaborative learning series for LHP members

By Albert Chaffin, MD
Medical Director, Legacy Health Partners

LHP is excited to announce an educational event that will highlight the latest advancements in obesity management. This clinical collaborative series will help healthcare professionals learn more about obesity as a chronic disease, especially in the time of new, groundbreaking medications. Mark your calendars for June 5 and join us for this pivotal learning opportunity. Note: While we have already reached our capacity for in-person attendees, you can still register below for the virtual option.

Event Overview:

Obesity treatment has entered a new era with the introduction of innovative drug therapies such as the popular GLP-1 and GIP agonists that promise to revolutionize care. Attendees will hear from three Legacy experts about these new treatments, providing insights into their mechanisms, benefits, and integration into patient care plans. They will also review the more established medications to treat obesity, offering a balanced perspective that respects past treatment options with the new ones.

Why Attend?

  • Enhance Your Practice: Gain practical knowledge and tools to implement these new treatments effectively within your practice.

Quality Corner: 2023 performance results and LHP’s focus on improvement

The results for LHP’s 2023 performance year are in, and we are proud to share performance highlights with the network. (Spoiler: we continue to excel in health and wellness measures and have room to improve diabetes care and reduce some of our advanced imaging orders). Read more to learn where we are focusing our attention this year and how you can get involved. We will distribute incentives to practices based on LHP's performance measures later this fall as usual. We are proud to have you as part of our network. Thank you for continuing to provide the highest quality care to our patients.

Time to complete this year’s learning activities

Announcements, deadlines, and reminders

  • Practice administrators can complete their responses for membership requirements and practice-level citizenship measures in this year’s attestation form (also linked on your LHP dashboard) any time before September 30. You do not need to login separately to submit your responses and only questions that are relevant to you and your practice will display. If you have questions, please contact your outreach advisor.

  • Phishing Alert: Phone calls and fax scams are on the increase. Last week, we shared details with LHP Administrators about someone who called Legacy multiple times and faxed fraudulent requests for signed orders of durable medical equipment (DME) and diagnostic testing. Please be aware of phishing strategies, remember to never provide patient information to a vendor without proper orders, and always give yourself time to review the request to make sure it’s valid.

  • Submit kudos below if you have had a positive experience with another LHP member or want to recognize someone on your staff who goes the extra mile day-to-day. When praise and achievements are submitted, they will be featured in LHP communications for network recognition and celebration.
