Claude Burgoyne, MD

Board certified in Ophthalmology, Dr. Burgoyne is a subspecialist in Glaucoma at Legacy Good Samaritan's Devers Eye Institute. He received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota followed by an internship at Pittsburgh's Mercy Hospital and residency at the University of Pittsburgh. He completed suspecialty training at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Burgoyne joined Devers in 2005. His clinical interest is in complicated glaucoma. He is Senior Scientist and Van Buskirk Chair for Ophthalmic Research as well as Research Director of the Optic Nerve Head Research Laboratory. Among other honors, Dr. Burgoyne received the 2010 Alcon Research Institute Award and was the 2008 recipient of the Lewis Rudin Glaucoma Prize.
