The Unity Center for Behavioral Health is a 24-hour behavioral and mental health services center located in the greater Portland area. We provide immediate psychiatric care and a path to recovery for people experiencing a mental health crisis.
Our team of dedicated psychiatric professionals offers compassionate and expert care in a safe environment, including crisis stabilization, crisis intervention, medication management, crisis counseling, social work and family and peer support. Our care navigators create and coordinate ongoing care plans for continuing treatment, with the goal that every individual leaves with a recovery plan already in motion. With this dual approach, we offer real hope for a future free from mental and behavioral health trauma for our patients.

Unity Center to open emergency substance use disorder center this June
The service will help stabilize those suffering from acute intoxication so they may transition to an addiction treatment program.
The new center will provide 24/7:
- Emergency responder and police drop-off access
- Walk-in services
- Emergency mental health stabilization
- Withdrawal management
- American Society of Addiction Medicine level of care assessments
- Recovery-focused care coordination and referrals
- Harm reduction education and supplies
- Peer support
- Referrals for follow-up care within the community for treatment services
Unity Center’s staff has extensive experience in trauma-informed care, verbal de-escalation and recovery-focused treatment planning. The new center will provide easily accessible and safe care to assist patients suffering from mental health and substance-related crises. Read more.

As demand for behavioral health care and withdrawal management services increases, Unity Center rises to meet the need each day.
In 2017, Unity Center for Behavioral Health opened its doors to those in need of immediate lifesaving care. Seven years later, it remains the only service of its kind in Oregon.
Unity Center was created with the bold and innovative vision of providing compassionate and trauma-informed care to the most vulnerable populations. With the collaboration of four health systems – Adventist Health, Kaiser Permanente, Legacy Health and Oregon Health and Science University, Unity Center has cared for more than 29,000 individuals since opening its doors.
