Dr. Nelson is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery and cartilage restoration. He earned a medical degree from Western University of Health Sciences–COMP. He completed residency at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis, OR, with core rotations at Oregon Health and Sciences University, Shriners Hospitals for Children, and Legacy Emanuel. He completed a sports medicine fellowship at Hoag Orthopedic Institute in Southern California, with coverage of multiple NCAA, USA, and professional teams and athletes. Dr. Nelson’s passion is to provide compassionate and comprehensive orthopedic and sports medicine care, no matter his patients’ age, activity level or injury.

I had a particularly good experience with this visit (and others in the past). Dr, nurses, and staff are always positive and eager to answer any of my questions - and I don't hold back because I am generally curious about procedures and processes. Wait times are minimal and the staff is very respectful of my time. If there was any slight delay it was overshadowed by their attentiveness and generally positive attitudes.

Dr Nelson was absolutely fantastic. He listened to my concerns, explained all my options and helped me understand at a basic level what was going on with my knee. He provided future plans and things to look out for, and was incredibly thorough and kind.

Dr Nelson is an outstanding medical doctor and an AMAZING surgeon. I feel so blessed that he provided my shoulder and biceps surgeries! He's a jewel in the medical field! He actually listens to what I say and is genuine in his care and responses!

Receptionists are always fast, efficient and kind. I'm never in the waiting room longer than 5 minutes max (awesome!!) before my appointment. Dr Nelson's energy matches mine & he did a "beyond outstanding job" on my surgery and follow up. He and his assistant both answered all the questions I had & am SO happy & fortunate that I got the BEST surgeon to fix my shoulder. My livelihood depends on my ability to move & he secured that livelihood. I could not be more grateful!!

Dr. Nelson was outstanding! He knew what my knee problem was before he even entered the room just by looking at the X-rays. He explained what was going on and showed me on the X-rays what the issue was. He was very kind and explained in layman's terms what was happening. I am so grateful to him, and I wish I had come to him months earlier. He referred me to another surgeon which I appreciate immensely.

I have been sent to multiple different doctors, Physical therapist, etc and Dr. Nelson was the ONLY person who said "the pain is real, you are not crazy". He went above and beyond, and found multiple solutions to care for my injury.

Everyone was so great to deal with, it really made a difference in my day to have all the help I needed during this less-than-ideal time in my life with the Injury I sustained. Dr. Nelson and his staff are fantastic, and I feel extremely lucky that I got them as my care team! I have no complaints at all.

They told me at first I couldn't see the Dr because I didn't have an X-ray that no one told me to do! When I suggested they switch ed what I would be seeing him For to the other leg which he had X-rays for they told me they would t and I left angry after driving o et 100 mi on a blistering day to see him and taking a half day off of work. When I went back in to get names a nice asst from the back said they would switch and ushered me back. Getting someone o. The phone to make appointments or ask a question is near impossible!

Dr Nelson is a kind concerned Dr. He takes his time to explain and listens to your needs. He has a great personality and truly loves his work he is very knowledgeable and compassionate about his job to help people. His bedside manner is great. Making you feel comfortable with a smile and whatever your concerns are. If more drs. Were like this man, the medical field would sure benefit. Thank you for all you do in making a difference in people's lives Dr. Nelson.

I was asked to complete a very lengthy questionnaire online, which I did, 48 hours before my appointment. It was extremely detailed and took a considerable amount of time to accurately complete. Surprisingly I was asked many of the same questions AGAIN before seeing the physician! One or the other experience was a waste of my time. Otherwise the visit was efficient and encouraging. I needed to be on my way to meet another appointment after seeing Dr. Nelson and every effort was made to get me on my way on time.

Everything at this office was amazing no complaints there, but when I called to schedule appointment the receptionist or office person was not the best very short and kinda rude.but u knew I needed the appointment and I knew the Dr. Was good so made appointment anyways if not I would have gone some where different right off the back based on that call... Once at the office visit was super good...
