Janice Faye Olson, MD, MHA, is medical director of the Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders Program, Randall Children's Hospital at Legacy Emanuel. Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Dr. Olson earned her bachelor's of arts degree at Washington University in St. Louis, her medical degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City and her master's degree in Healthcare Adminstration and Public Policy from the School of Public Health, University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Certification: Dr. Olson is board-certified in pediatrics and hematology-oncology. She is a member of a number of professional organizations, including the Children's Oncology Group and American Society of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. Dr. Olson won the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Fellowship, Pediatric Scientist Training Program in 1989, and the Carpe Diem Award, Children's Cancer Association, Portland in 2002. Dr. Olson, who has held academic appointments since 1992, served as an attending physician in pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant at Duke from 1991-1998. She joined Randall Children's Hospital in 1999. She is the author of numerous manuscripts and abstracts and is a frequently invited speaker at conferences.
