About Me:

Aloha, my name is Joel. I was born and raised in Hawaii (Oahu and Maui) but have lived in PNW for 20+ years. I am a people-person who loves to serve and take care of others. Coming from Hawaii, Ohana (family) is the way I view my friends and coworkers who I always treat with Malama (respect/care) and value them for their part in enriching my life. You will typically see me greeting you with a smile and a shaka (hang loose hand gesture is what people know it as). I use olelo Hawaii (Hawaiian language) at times because it conveys emotion along with the words. I am currently serving as the Chief Nurse of a USAF Reserve clinic at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA. Previous to this, I spent 14 years as an enlisted Marine so I am going on 30 years of DOD service with many deployments under my belt. I like to travel, experience other cultures (especially food), diversity, family and friends, military service, the outdoors, documentaries, and driving fast on the autobahn.
