About Me:

Jonathan Young MD, PhD is a board certified Ophthalmologist specializing in medical and surgical Glaucoma management. A Portland native, he gained early medical experience through a scholarship working as an emergency room technician at Legacy Mt. Hood Medical Center. His medical and graduate school was NIH funded through UCLA and the California Institute of Technology, a dual-degree program where he obtained his MD and PhD. After returning home for Ophthalmology training at the Casey Eye Institute, he finished Glaucoma Fellowship training at the Stein Eye Institute of UCLA. Dr. Young is excited to treat patients in his home community and give back to a health system that helped him early in his career. His clinical interests include optimizing surgical glaucoma outcomes and fellowship teaching. He actively participates in coordinating clinical research.
