I value the experiences I had caring for sailors, marines, their families, and retirees. I have also worked with insurance companies in managed care. My background has given me a broad perspective on healthcare, from developing new drugs that help millions of people and serving as a doctor taking care of the individual. I strive to build respectful relationships with my patients and their families that are rooted in clear and honest communication. When I sit in a room with you, I consider there are two experts there - you and me - who work together focusing on preventive medicine, “preventing the preventable,” and helping you with your health goals. I consider medicines as tools, always considering potential benefits, risks, and alternatives. My bias is towards fewer medicines, but I prescribe them when they are necessary. I enjoy working with elderly, veterans, and immigrant populations. Hobbies include spending time with my family, bird photography, and scale models.
