About Me:

Maria graduated from OHSU’s School of Nursing with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1993. She then worked as registered nurse (RN) for nearly 20 years before returning to school to earn her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN-FNP) degree in 2022 from Bradley University. Having worked as a cardiovascular nurse caring for acutely and critically ill patients since 1993, and at Legacy since 1995, Maria deeply believes in the mission and values of the Legacy Health System. She is passionate about helping patients understand how to maintain optimal cardiovascular health with a focus on prevention and risk reduction. As such, Maria ultimately decided to complete her FNP degree to have a greater impact on patient outcomes through education and giving patients the facts they need to make informed decisions about managing their health. When Maria is not caring for her patients, she enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her husband and two dogs.
