As a board certified plastic surgeon with special expertise in hand and wrist surgery, Dr. Gelfand is enthusiastic about treating people with pain, injuries, or cancer and helping restore function. His expertise include adult hand surgery, nerve repair, tendon repair or reconstruction, microvascular surgery, surgical treatment of difficult wounds, breast surgery and reconstruction including DIEP flaps, and correction of nasal deformities (rhinoplasty). Dr. Gelfand strives to provide safe and effective patient focused care with the goal of restoring and improving function, form and quality of life.

Had all of my questions answered and concerns addressed. Was not with a typical care provider but a surgeon to discuss scheduling a surgery.

The doctor said I had gout and he could not help me. Told me to see my primaryCare doctor and have him refer me to a Rheumatologist.

First time ever I arrived early was checked in and in the back room with the doctor before my scheduled appointment Everyone was very kind helpful and professional.

I was into dr office very quickly after checking I. At desk. Saw doctor right away he went over everything that I needed to have done. Got me into surgery next day. Him and his staff all very wonderful.

Mark Gelfand has horrible bedside manner. I felt completely disregarded. I feel like he did not listen or take me seriously and he had his mind made up before he walked into my room. I started crying from stress and disappointment after he walked out. At no point was the door shut so everyone walking by got to look in and see me crying. What a waste of time and money. The nurse was awesome. The security robot in the parking lot was fun to see. The only saving graces.

Good orthopedic testing, did refer for an MRI, did seem to pay enough attention to symptoms.

Got seen almost immediately. Was in the exam room for a bit longer than I thought but I understand that sometimes you have to split your time at work to have everything go smoothly so I wasn't mad.

Waited 45 minutes and had to go to ask how much longer,then they said they would squeeze me in they said to take a seat and I said would I have to wait another 45 minutes , I got in shortly after Dr was in a hurry, after waiting 6 weeks for the appointment I wasn't treated very well. I don't think I will go back to that office.

I would have liked to talk to him about my plantar fasciitis and tendon problems to see if that's part of my hand problem. I would've also like to walk out of there knowing a little more about if I had any limitation on weight lifting on my hand or what I should be doing with my hand besides just wearing a brace only at night since it's been four months since I had my hand free. But other than that the doctor and everybody were friendly and everything just seemed like they were in a real hurry.

Gelfand is direct, to the point, not particularly squishy but he is an excellent listener. I scored with this guy.He also asked Immediately about my other health/ needing an organ Issues before even the hand. I really liked that. He could be a little nicer to his staff. I heard him in the hall being bossy but that's why he is so good. I had carcinoid cancer and this surgeon was similar in personality but they know their stuff. Gelfand gave me by very best options and I appreciate him.

Just that, I got called very quickly to go to the room to wait for the doctor. But with the door shut and waiting 20 minutes I got very uncomfortable. I would rather wait in the waiting room.
