About Me:

Dr. Nameeta Penkar Richard was born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. During her fellowship training, she was awarded the St. Baldricks Foundation Fellow grant and the Umpqua Bank Innovation Award for Pediatric Cancer Research for her T-cell leukemia research. She also received an international elective grant from the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on International Child Health where she worked at Muhimbili National Hospital in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania on the pediatric oncology ward. Dr. Richard specializes in caring for children with cancer and blood disorders and greatly values her relationship with children and families facing challenges. Dr. Richard also has an interest in taking care of patients with hemoglobinopathies and clotting disorders. In their spare time, Dr. Richard and her husband enjoy camping, hiking, skiing, and cheering on the Portland Timbers.
