About Me:

Sam graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with his Master of Science in Nursing and has been practicing as a board-certified Adult Gerontology Clinical Nursing Specialist since his program completion in 2022. Prior to becoming a registered nurse, Sam worked in education after receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Modern Languages and Linguistics from the University of Maryland Baltimore County along with a Master of Arts degree in Latin American Studies from University of Texas at Austin. Prior to joining the cardiology team at Legacy Good Samaritan, Sam worked at an advanced cardiac care clinic where he treated patients with heart failure, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, pulmonary hypertension, and amyloidosis. He also saw patients in the advanced cardiac care clinic’s valve clinic doing follow-up appointments for TAVR and MitraClip patients. Sam also has experience working as an inpatient RN in a cardiac specialty hospital in the emergency department and stepdown units.
