About Me:

Valerie Halpin, M.D., received her medical training at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. While at Washington University she completed a residency in general sugery and a research fellowship in advanced laparoscopic surgery. Before joining Legacy Good Samaritan Weight Management Institute in 2008, Dr. Halpin taught as an Assistant Professor of Surgery focusing on bariatric and gastrointestinal surgery at Washington University in St. Louis. She also served as the Integrated Surgical Disciplines Clerkship Director. Dr. Halpin continues to enjoy surgical education as the Bariatric Surgery Fellowship program director at Legacy Weight and Diabetes Institute. Dr. Halpin has published numerous scientific articles and book chapters on bariatric and gastrointestinal surgery and surgical education.
