About Me:

" I was born in Reading, PA, (home of the Reading Railroad, 5th Avenue candy bar and Luden's cough drops) where I lived across the street from a steel mill. We moved to Washington, DC when I was 8 and I lived there from elementary school through medical school. During my time in medical school and residency training I had the opportunity to learn from some of the pioneers in the field of surgery. I met my future wife during residency in Syracuse, NY. After finishing our fellowships in Connecticut, we looked for a place where we could establish a spiritual home and begin a family, which lead us to Portland. I am a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, Portland Surgical Society, the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma, the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the American College of Physician Executives. I have Board Certifications in General Surgery, Surgical Critical Care and Public Health. Our philosophy is "Excellence in surgical patient care, one patient at a time."
