As a board certified plastic surgeon with special expertise in hand and wrist surgery, Dr. Gelfand is enthusiastic about treating people with pain, injuries, or cancer and helping restore function. His expertise include adult hand surgery, nerve repair, tendon repair or reconstruction, microvascular surgery, surgical treatment of difficult wounds, breast surgery and reconstruction including DIEP flaps, and correction of nasal deformities (rhinoplasty). Doctor explained his evaluation and possible solutions that an MRI he ordered will help define. Showed me how to tape my two fingers together to help in the interim. Very impressed with doctor and his staff.

From my first appointment, to my surgery, to rehab. I have never had a more pleasant and courteous experience as I have at Legacy Mt.Hood!!!! I'm so greatfull to Dr. Gelfland and Sommer Verley! They were really there for me when I needed them. Even the surgical staff and anistitiolalagist were absolutely wonderful!!! Thank you for making a bad situation bare able

The only constructive criticism I would offer is the door to the office I was in for the procedure was left open while I was being prepped for the surgery (waiting for my cheek to become numb, for instance). People walked by a number of times while I was laying back on the operatory table/chair. More than likely these were all professional staff, however, another patient could easily walk by and this felt a little awkward and unnecessary to me.

Brand new medical provider, so at this time, I do not have much to report. All I did was meet the doctor and he will be along with another doctor will be doing a procedure on September 30th. I wish I could add more to my comments, but the appt. Was quite brief.

All the attention from the Medical Professional and the legacy office has been very good, friendly, and respectful; my problem comes from the time back, from the Frontier Dermatology office who canceled my Mohs surgery (06/07/24) because when the surgeon arrived and saw my injury, he decided that I would need the help of a plastic surgeon to reconstruct my forehead. They were in charge of requesting an APPOINTMENT with Dr. Gelfand Mark A; of the Legacy Medical Group, but it took 15 days to contact him... That's how I've been treated since the first day of May... And I'm still waiting for Frontier Dermatology to reschedule my surgery to remove my basal cell cancer... And then, in theory a maximum of two days and already in Legacy Health, Dr. Gelfand would do the reconstruction of my forehead; He was very professional and attentive; Thank you...

I arrived with a typed out list of information and questions. My efforts were completely ignored. I felt as if I has to beg for an Xray to see if things had changed...I felt like a cow being pushed through the chute to get onto the next cow/person. The quick and easy answer was give me a shot, send me out the door, come see me in 6 weeks. I am thankful when I requested therapy, that was granted. I am seeing wonderful results!

Dr Gelfand has a poor Bedside manner. At times he treated Regina in an angry way. There were several botched procedures, including skinny crosses, subdermal, hematoma, that almost killed her, and the end, a blown out breast implant, which require the implant to be removed. The whole process was painful to Regina , and cost her an extreme amount of discomfort . Making her cancer treatment that much more difficult. Well, some of these issues might not have been his problem, per se. I can't help but think some of these things were brought on by poor attention to detail. Basically, It was a complete shit show I would also like to say , that Dr Aks also was less than professional.. Retiring less than two weeks after she did Reginas double mastectomy. She did a poor job on the surgery as well ..and then , Leaving Regina with no Surgeon at all! Only a plastic surgeon. Despicable.

Had all of my questions answered and concerns addressed. Was not with a typical care provider but a surgeon to discuss scheduling a surgery.

The doctor said I had gout and he could not help me. Told me to see my primaryCare doctor and have him refer me to a Rheumatologist.

Waiting time was great. The ladies in the front end and Medical Assistant need a little more training on how to be friendly and maybe Crack a smile time to time with there patients! Kindness goes a long ways. When I see someone without smile makes me think they may hate there job.

I was into dr office very quickly after checking I. At desk. Saw doctor right away he went over everything that I needed to have done. Got me into surgery next day. Him and his staff all very wonderful.

They have a terrible scanner to read credit cards. If it won't scan CC, they can not type in CC#. This Is old school tech. I Like to pay my bill while I am there. I HAD THE CASH, but the would only accept exact amount. No change. Again old school.

Mark Gelfand has horrible bedside manner. I felt completely disregarded. I feel like he did not listen or take me seriously and he had his mind made up before he walked into my room. I started crying from stress and disappointment after he walked out. At no point was the door shut so everyone walking by got to look in and see me crying. What a waste of time and money. The nurse was awesome. The security robot in the parking lot was fun to see. The only saving graces.

Nurse was ok. Dr came in and left door open, stated you are a 68 yr old woman, asked what do you do for a living? So you had a Er visit for a laceration. He took a look and said I don't think it need fixing so came back in a year. 5 minutes and I'm out. Ps his white coat was dirty.

I arrived on time for my scheduled visit. Dr Gelfand's receptionist was not at her desk, so another receptionist asked my name and who I was here to see. I told her and she explained the receptionist as away from her desk but she would inform her I was here when she came back. Well apparently that didn't happen. Other patients showed up when the receptionist returned and she checked them in. After one of those patients got called to the exam area I decided I should check again. Dr Gelfand's receptionist then informed me that I was nearly 1/2 hour late for my appointment. I told her to at I was here on time and she wasn't at her desk. Furthermore Angela, the other receptionist said she would let her know I was here. That didn't happen. But I was made to feel from them both that I was late, it was my fault, and I may not be able to be seen. I drove 40 miles from my home to this appointment that took 1.5 hours in commuting to be treated like that from a receptionist is uncalled for and I would appreciate someone getting some "re-training" on the level of customer service. Because at this point, it is severely lacking at the front of this office. When I did get back to the exam room everything else was great. Dr Gelfand was kind, patient, informative, and understanding of my issue. Highly recommend him but highly recommend replacing the receptionist.

First, it was very hard to understand him. He seemsmed rushed. I went in have a lump on my wrist checked our and was hoping he would drain the sist, thats what he called it,but said it wasnt hurting anything and no hurry to take of it. I live 2 hours away from him and with winter coming , ill have to wait till sring. Im having numbness and pain on both my hands and sent a refural to
