February 03, 2014
In celebration of American Heart Month, Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center, leadership, staff, physicians and patients from the hospital’s Cardiac Rehabilitation program kept a treadmill moving non-stop for 24 hours straight in the main lobby of the hospital.
KOIN Local 6's Elishah Oesch kicked off the 24 hour treadmill marathon at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5th and after she was done, Legacy Good Samaritan’s new chief administrative officer, Jonathan Avery took the reigns. Legacy Good Samaritan Cardiac Rehab's star patient, 90-year-old Mary Takayanagi crossed the finish line at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 6th.
The public can help those in need achieve a heart-healthy life by making a donation directly to the Legacy Good Samaritan Cardiac Rehab patient scholarship fund. Donations can be made online at legacyhealth.org/giving, or by calling the Good Samaritan Foundation at 503-413-6089.
