About Me:

Dr. Furukawa is delighted to practice the full spectrum of Obstetrics & Gynecology. She is passionate about high and low risk obstetrics, adolescent gynecology, contraception, sexual health, infertility, vulvar disorders, management of abnormal bleeding and menopause. She is honored to partner with her patients through the decades, and deeply values these long-term relationships. Dr. Furukawa is from Spokane, WA but has put down deep roots in Portland. She enjoys diving into a good book, outdoor adventures with her two boys, exploring Portland restaurants, admiring neighborhood architecture with her husband, and sipping a good cup of coffee. She loves international travel and has collaborated on women’s health projects in Guatemala and Ethiopia. She looks forward to meeting you!

Training: Dr. Furukawa excels in minimally invasive gynecology surgery, offering outpatient hysterectomy, advanced hysteroscopy, laparoscopy, and office-based procedures such as colposcopy, LEEP, and endometrial ablation.

Abby is always a pleasure. She made me feel at ease and confident. I'm very lucky to have her help going through my first pregnancy. I would give her 100/10 if I could. If she were to go to a different hospital, I would follow :)

Overall experience was great. Dr. Furukawa I very thorough and informative with patient care. I would recommend her service with my family and friends. We felt love and really cared for. I had a safe delivery and good recovery after my c-section.

Overall a good experience. I wish it was easier to schedule an appointment on the providers website. It was not working.

She was friendly at first but when I asked questions that disrupted her script she took umbridge and make uncomfortable facial expressions. I then became uncomfortable with her.

Apparently there was a problem with the office staff. In particular the receptionists. Two errors were made by them regarding me that sent me t another physician incorrectly and the second required me to make another appointment with this office which should have been taken care of at the visit we are talking about.

Dr. Furukawa is an excellent provider. She investigated the imaging results herself and disagreed with radiology's readings, which lead to a new path of healing for me. Her fabulous patient care is comprised of curiosity, creative thinking, intelligence and expertise. I'm grateful for the care she provided for me!

When booking my exam, openings were a bit farther out than I hoped. U did not require the office to relay test results to me because I could access them online. I appreciate the great service and care from Dr. Furukawa.

A friendly and helpful person at the office who deals with insurance took the time to investigate my coverage and make sure that I understood what would be covered and what might not. I really appreciated that! I didn't ask her to-she just did it for me. It was very thoughtful.

Love Dr Furukawa! She was amazing with our teenage daughter. She explained everything, listened and answered all of her questions.
