About Me:
Dr. Amit Ayer completed his undergraduate education at Queen’s University with a degree in life sciences and an honors thesis in immunology. He completed his medical training at Wake Forest University and neurosurgical training at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where during residency he obtained a Master of Business Administration from Kellogg School of Management and was cofounder of two neurosurgical medical device companies during this time. He obtained his fellowship in functional and restorative neurosurgery at Stanford University with a focus on movement disorders and epilepsy. Dr. Ayer has clinical interests in surgical treatments for brain tumors, epilepsy, movement disorders, hydrocephalus and degenerative and neoplastic spinal issues. In his free time, he enjoys playing guitar, hockey, hiking, traveling and spending time with his wife and two golden retrievers.
