About Me:
Dr. Joye’s interests away from medicine include spending time with friends and family, hiking, scuba diving, cooking and exploring new food, and traveling to new places.
Training:
Dr. Joye is a board-certified ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery. His clinical expertise includes routine and complex cataract surgery, all forms of keratoplasty (full-thickness and partial thickness corneal transplantation techniques), keratoprosthesis (artificial cornea transplantation), anterior segment reconstruction techniques (including iris repair, secondary intraocular lens fixation, artificial iris transplantation), refractive surgery, medical and surgical management complex ocular surface disease, and infectious and inflammatory keratitis.
Certification:
After receiving his medical degree from Touro University of California, Dr. Joye was selected to complete an ophthalmology research internship at the F.I. Proctor Foundation. He then completed medicine internship at the Legacy Health System in Portland Oregon, followed by ophthalmology residency at the Casey Eye Institute of Oregon Health & Science University. Dr. Joye then completed subspecialty training in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco and F.I. Proctor Foundation.
