About Me:
Delphine Engel, MD is a board-certified General Surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Her interest and area of focus is Acute Care Surgery. Dr. Engel is originally from Northern California. As an undergraduate, she studied Molecular Biology at University of California, Santa Cruz. In her pathway to medical school, Dr. Engel interned as a pre-med in Dr. Anthony Fauci’s lab at the National Institutes of Health. She then earned her medical degree at St George’s University. She completed her residency training at Texas Tech University, where she stayed on to teach academic surgery for 3 years. Dr. Engel completed Fellowships in Burns at the Department of Plastic Surgery at Jacobi Hospital of Albert Einstein Medical School in the Bronx, NY and in Surgical Critical Care at University of California, Irvine. In her free time, Dr. Engel enjoys visiting the beaches and tide pools with her husband and preschool-age child. She is a practicing Yogi and speaks fluent French.
