About Me:
Duy C. Nguyen, M.D. is a board certified general thoracic surgeon who joined Legacy Health in 2022. Prior to this, he was Assistant Professor of Thoracic Surgery at UT Health San Antonio where he performed the first robotic Ivor Lewis Esophagectomy, and robotic first rib resection in the region. He completed his cardiothoracic surgery training at Baylor College of Medicine / Texas Heart Institute in Houston, Texas under Dr. David Sugarbaker after a thoracic surgery fellowship was Brigham & Women's in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Nguyen has a special interest in robotic thoracic and foregut surgery where he treats lung nodules / cancer, esophageal cancer, esophageal motility disorders (including GERD, hiatal / paraesophageal hernias, achalasia), mediastinal tumors, diaphragm paralysis, and thoracic outlet syndrome (arterial / venous / neurogenic).
