About Me:
Dr. Hannah Smith provides expert care in a welcoming and inclusive environment. She believes that everyone deserves health care that is respectful, evidence-based, and supportive of autonomy and independent decision-making. She values the opportunity to be an advocate, educator, and confidante to all of her patients. Dr. Smith has a special interest in high-risk obstetrics and family planning. She particularly enjoys working with patients who have complex contraception needs, have a complicated surgical history, or those who are larger-bodied.
Training:
Dr. Smith was inspired to pursue a career in medicine by her father, who was a pediatric infectious disease physician and scientist. She earned a bachelor of science in biology at Reed College in Portland, Oregon. She earned a master of clinical research and her doctor of medicine at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), also in Portland, Oregon. From there, she completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland. She has extensive OBGYN-related research experience, including topics such as glucose monitoring and the Zika virus.
