HELPING PEOPLE CONTROL RISKS, STAY SAFE

Legacy Health's safety and injury prevention education programs help people to learn how to avoid risk and to stay safe.
Central to these offerings is the Legacy Trauma Nurses Talk Tough (TNTT) program, started over 30 years ago by three trauma nurses
wanting to end the serious injuries they saw every day as a result of risky and unsafe behavior. Since then, TNTT has been a leader
in programs that help prevent injuries causing death or permanent disability, educating thousands of people of all ages each year.

Court Ordered Classes
The court ordered classes are offered to drivers charged with DUII, unsafe driving and other risky behaviors. These courses educate drivers to the potential consequences of various high-risk driving behaviors.
Family Education Programs
The family education programs include a workshop designed to teach parents and teens—who have not obtained their license yet—healthy driving behaviors together as well as a program that teaches the life-saving steps of bleeding control in emergency situations.
School Programs
The school programs present injury causation and prevention information to children ages five to 18. The information presented within these programs teach young people how to avoid or to control the risk in their lives.
Helmet Safety
The bike and multi-sport helmet program provides helmets and helmet fittings to children and adults at low or no cost. Helmets and helmet fittings are distributed through events sponsored by both Legacy Health and community partners.
Take the Right Steps
The Take the Right Steps program is designed to reduce fall risk in older adults. It is a free one-hour class that engages older adults, builds confidence, empowers and encourages older adults to manage their own health.
Youth Violence
The youth violence program works with community partners to address important aspects of youth violence prevention, such as promoting healthy family environments, creating protective community environments, and much more.
