If joint replacement surgery is the best solution for you, Legacy Health’s orthopedic surgeons are ready to help you in your journey from pre-surgery to recovery. They’ll work together with you as an active partner in planning. You’ll also attend a class to better understand what’s involved with surgery, your hospital stay and recovery, giving you the information you need to achieve the best result.

Knee replacement

Artificial surfaces made from metal and plastic are used to cap the ends of the damaged thigh and lower leg (shin) bones and usually the kneecap.

Hip replacement

During hip replacement, the surgeon replaces the damaged joint with a new, artificial joint.

Shoulder replacement

A surgeon replaces the damaged shoulder joint with a new, artificial joint. The shoulder joint consists of the upper arm bone (humerus), the shoulder blade (scapula) and the clavicle (collar bone).
