Pride 2025 once again brings together the entire Legacy Health system to celebrate the contributions and collective inspirational journey of the LGBTQ+ community. At the center of this always joyous celebration is Legacy’s Pride Employee Resource Group, the largest and oldest of Legacy’s ERGs. This year, the Pride campaign theme, “Pride is Now and Forever,” captures the enduring solidarity of this ERG and Legacy’s commitment to it and the entire LGBTQ+ community.
Several members of the Pride ERG took time to reflect on what the Pride ERG means to them, as well as the importance of the month-long celebration.

Mel Rivero
IS applications director
Mel Rivero has worked at Legacy Health for 13 years, and until 2023, the IS applications director was chair/co-chair of Legacy’s Pride ERG. Mel has loved her time at Legacy but also her tenure as a Pride ERG member and leader. She says it’s helped her to connect authentically with others and made her a better leader.

Lucas Spencer
Certified community health worker
A relatively new arrival to Oregon from Wisconsin, Lucas Spencer is enjoying life at Legacy Health as well as his new home state and city. Lucas is a certified community health worker with Legacy Medical Group’s Northeast office. He’s loving the work there; what’s more, he’s loving the positive energy the team has shown towards one another and towards Pride.

Madison Bush
Applications system analyst
Madison Bush came to Legacy Health seven years ago after working at a small medical clinic. After a series of promotions, she’s now an applications system analyst at Legacy. One observation she has about her time here: She loves the family atmosphere of her team and at Legacy overall. “I’ve worked at a lot of places this size and I usually don’t like them because there is no connection. I feel connected here.”

Zach McCall
Director of ambulatory pharmacy services
Zach McCall has witnessed a lot of change and progress during his 18 years at Legacy Health. As director of ambulatory pharmacy services, McCall has seen the expansion of pharmacy services throughout the Legacy system and experienced greater collaboration with colleagues. He’s also seen similar growth within the Pride ERG over those years. For Zach, Legacy’s Pride ERG is “laying the groundwork to ensure future generations will still have a community and embrace the diversity that this ERG and others bring.”
